about

In March 2010 I’ve been several days in bed, unable to stand, due to sciatic nerve paralysis.
As I was bored in bed, the pain made it impossible to move my legs, I thought it will be good to make some music to pass the time and forget a bit of the pain.
For that, I used my iPod Touch and some cheap music software you could easily get on it: "Grid" and "Jasuto", which are digital self-generative synths with a lot of gesture control, I also bought a radio scanner software "5-0 Radio Pro" in order to record radio conversations of various patrols such as the Alaska Border Patrol, the NYPD, the SFPS, the LAPD, the LVPD, and the Santiago de Chile Fire Department. I also used an electro-magnetic microphone to record the hardware’s hidden sounds, both the iPod Touch and the emf microphone are directly plugged into a Zoom recorder.

Unreleased.

about

Francisco Meirino Lausanne, Switzerland

Francisco Meirino's music explores the tension between programmable material and the potential for its failure.
His work combines intricate textures, sonic precision, wide spatial panning and is fascinating by its physical intensity and detail precision.
